Going the Distance: Jurassic Coast Challenge 2026 Participants Raise £4,900 (and Counting) for Appeal

Dorset County Hospital Charity would like to say a huge thank you to the incredible supporters who recently took part in this year’s Jurassic Coast Challenge to raise funds for the Charity’s Emergency and Critical Care Appeal.

A total of 12 walkers and runners, including a number of DCH staff, a team of eight colleagues from our long-term supporter NFU Dorchester, and members of the local community completed the challenge and have raised an amazing £4906.00 so far, with some fundraising pages still open and the total continuing to grow.

Funds raised will support Dorset County Hospital Charity’s £2.5 million Emergency and Critical Care Appeal, helping to provide enhanced facilities and equipment for the new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit beyond NHS funding.

A big thank you to those who took part:

Reena Robin (DCH), Wendy Britton (DCH), Mark Adams (DCH), Pieter Mostert, NFU Dorchester Team; Daniela Todd, Matt Uren, Erin Hughes, Lucy Wakely, Pete Galloway, Kayleigh Rammell, Gemma Harvey, Willow Wright

Casey Gregory, Fundraising Manager at DCH Charity, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in this year’s Jurassic Coast Challenge in support of our Appeal. Taking on a challenge like this requires commitment, determination and a huge amount of community spirit. Every pound raised will help us make an even greater difference for patients, families and staff using the new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit in the future.”

“It has been wonderful to see individuals and teams come together to support such an important cause, and we’d like to thank everyone who donated, encouraged and cheered our participants on along the way.”
