Dorset’s popular summer event Buckham Fair is returning on Sunday 2nd August and promises to be bigger and better than ever!
Proceeds raised from this event will be donated to DCH Charity’s Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. The £2.5 million Appeal will help to fund equipment and facilities beyond the NHS budget for the new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit currently under construction at Dorset County Hospital. The project is funded by the Government’s New Hospital programme (NHP) and is due to open in 2027.
Buckham Fair’s organisers, which includes actor, Martin Clunes, are passionate about supporting this cause. During a visit to the new Emergency and Critical Care construction site earlier this spring, Martin told us how committed they are to getting us a step closer to the £2.5 million target.
Martin said, “The staff at DCH are amazing but they need more space, and they’re going to expand into this beautiful new unit and be given even better tools to be able to carry out and administer the wonderful care that they always have done. The NHS is investing £100 million, and we’re raising even more for these wonderful doctors and nurses to help give them what they need to do their job to the best of their ability. Buckham Fair is an opportunity for people to come and give what they want to give, and we’ll give every single penny of the profits we make to help fund this project.”
Alongside the funfair, delicious food and drink, trade stalls and dog show, there will also be The Festival of The Heavy Horse Show in the heavy horse village, which is new for this year.
Tickets are available on the day for £25 per adult (under 12’s go FREE) or at a discounted price of £20 per adult if you buy your tickets by 12th July.
