Celebrating Success

Funds and departments

Can you donate to a hospital ward?

Your support means the world to us! Whether you choose to direct your donation to a specific hospital ward or department at Dorset County Hospital or entrust us to allocate it where it is needed most through our Greatest Need fund, you are making a tremendous impact. By contributing to our charity, you are helping to sustain exceptional care and ground-breaking medical research within our hospital.

Patients and families often feel a deep connection to departments and wards which have cared for them, and wish to give back through donations. Your generosity, whether it’s a general contribution or targeted towards a particular piece of equipment, staff welfare or project, can truly make a difference. At DCH Charity, we welcome and encourage donations that hold personal significance, and your kindness enables us to to enhance the level of care we offer for now, and for future generations to come.

Healthcare areas you could donate to include:
  • Staff welfare – Your donation will support the ongoing health and wellbeing needs of all staff at DCH.
  • Cancer ServicesCancer care at DCH includes specialist outpatient and inpatient units, including our new Fortuneswell Unit – all staffed by dedicated professionals providing high quality care.
  • CardiologyThe Cardiac unit performs around 400 Coronary stent procedures and implants 450 cardiac devices each year.
  • Children’s Services – This includes the Kingfisher Ward and Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) – these are very special places with committed and passionate staff caring for babies and children, and supporting families.
  • The Greatest Need fund – This fund is for wherever the need is greatest in the hospital at the time of your donation so we can ensure that your donation will make an immediate impact.
